I saw that you can route midi to it but how do you do it? Re:How do you route midi to a vst? You have to do a VST scan and tell it where the dll file for Kerovee is before that will work. I am feeling really stupid so pretend you are talking to a 2 year old :- I inserted a midi track but kerovee is not an option for outputs.
I also told it to re-scan existing plugins. I can add kerovee as an effect on an audio track but I do not have the option for setting the output of a midi track to kerovee. Forum Host. For many of us, recording and mixing our music at the computer can become a tug of war between our keyboards and mice, trying to wrest as much control as we can over our software while maintaining finesse and efficient workflow. Of course, the next step for many is to add more gear; mixers, MIDI keyboards, and controllers. This leads to endless switching between mouse and keyboard, keyboard and mixer, keyboard and keyboard computer and MIDI respectivelyand so on.
Even if you have the physical space to arrange all of your most used tools within an arms reach, the shear number of knobs, buttons, and sliders can make you feel more like Mission Control rather than a musician. One way to simplify things is to control your mixing, transport, and other common functions from one centralized location.
As a quick look in any major music store will attest to, few would question the usefulness of a control surface and in fact SONAR 2. However, for those of us who are short on money or studio space, there's a way to take advantage of the Control Surface support in SONAR 2. Digital mixers can be an ideal controller as there are already volume faders, panning knobs, and in some cases even transport controls. These controllers are already labeled and most likely already assigned to send dedicated MIDI data.
Its an easy choice for those who already own them. Dedicated knob boxes such as the Doepfer Pocket Dial or Kenton Control Freak also offer simple compact ways to transmit data into the computer. Whether you're a classically trained pianist or a producer trying to put together a remix, a keyboard is essential.
Most people like to work with their keyboard near or in front of their computer, which doesn't leave a lot of space for other devices. It makes sense, then, to make the most of that keyboard and the precious space it occupies. Make sure the input and output port are configured as well. Go ahead and hit close. You should now be able to see the control surface listed in the Control Surfaces toolbar. To its immediate right is a field showing the active track and then a button to open up the Control Surface parameters.
Go ahead and open the parameters now. Next, you'll want to make sure your chosen MIDI device is setup.Following the acquisition of certain assets and the complete set of intellectual property of Cakewalk Inc. In any case, you need to enable the driver that the manufacturer recommends. Here, you will need to enable input drivers by checking the ones you want to use in the Inputs section of the dialog, then clicking Apply.
Note that if a driver becomes unchecked after clicking apply, then it is either not properly installed, or not installed at all.
You can configure this property page later. Identify up to 8 buttons plus a modifier button, 8 knobs, and 8 sliders to use on your MIDI controller. These mappings are the same for every instance of each plug-in, and are saved automatically whenever you change them. Click Close to exit the Preferences dialog.
If you want to change the knob or slider that is controlling a particular cell, click the cell so that it displays the MIDI Learn label, then move the knob or slider you want to use. The cell will now be controlled by the knob or slider you moved.
You can edit the name at the top of the cell by clicking the name, and typing a new name into the Edit Label dialog which appears. Then disable the ACT Learn button. Click Yes if you want to keep your assignments. If you clicked Yes, your assignments are saved automatically, and are the same for every instance of the plug-in you just mapped.
This is done by clicking directly on the label and typing in a new name. Make sure you have a project open.
Going through the information provided below, we will be looking through some of the best options for the Cakewalk DAW. From Bluetooth connections to wired and motorized faders, these are the best choices for anyone looking to become more professional in their work environment. If you already have your own controller but want to be involved with Cakewalk but are not sure if it will be compatible, this next part is for you.
Any controller that supports the Mackie Control protocol will work with Cakewalk. But just like any other DAW and controller combination, there can be mismatches. MIDI Controllers can span to both extremes of the spectrum. The Mackie MCU Pro is an amazing piece of equipment for anyone working from home and wanting to work with faders and have as many customization options as possible on the controller itself.
Each one also has its own strong suits though. Cakewalk is a DAW digital audio workstation that brings collaboration and mobility to a whole new level. To start off… the whole program is FREE. Not just a trial, not just a lite version, the whole thing. Cakewalk can also export to and from the BandLab platform easily. This also makes working on the go so much easier.
The MCU Pro is one of the more expensive options on this entire list but is worth the money. It has a designated fader for the master control that never changes unless you do it yourself. All of the faders are motorized and jump to the position assigned to the fader within the DAW itself when in use.
You also can scroll across fader banks to change which channels are available at that time. There are 8 customizable buttons for you to designate so that you have peak efficiency with your process, as well as all channel names being displayed at the top of each channel.
This board is built to be less mobile more for a home or studio rig than most of the other boards on this list, but by no means let that turn you away from this great machine. Note: The product team at CakeWalk by Bandlab is planning some significant enhancements to Mackie-compatible controllers in the next release! The Presonus FaderPort V2 is an amazing choice no matter what you are working with.
But the mobility of this compared to a fully motorized board is incredible.Mercedes bus models
You can scan through channels and choose which one you want to work with. Within that is the options to solo, record, mute, pan, and even edit plugins. All from the controller itself. This level of quality is not one you see with a lot of mobile units, especially since this has a motorized fader in this size of a unit. It has options for playing, stopping, recording solo, mute and more for each channel.
The faders themselves are not motorized but they do control the volume.Join us now!Fly blinds

Thank you for the Link. Always say my passwort is wrong, when i say "Send new passwort", nothing happen, and when i register new it says "Email is in use". THAT is an Manual. I remember very well that ACT setup was not exactly intuitive for a newcomer - nearly drove me mad, and I deal with a lot of clunky software Anyway, this video finally helped to set me on the right track. For MIDI related topics, to the chapter SONAR is quite complicated software and the documentations is detailed. Also it takes just several days to read it throw, compared to the time you need to learn how to play any conventional music instrument, it is negligible.
Using 2 plug-ins with one surface produce some "side effects". Most these videos are oversimplified. Stay logged in. In Programm and Manual too 3. Win 7 x Onboard sound: Realtek ALCJoin us now! Forgot Your Password? Forgot your Username? Haven't received registration validation E-mail?

Ok so I think I know what I need to do for the control knobs. But now I have a question about assigning sounds to pads. Atm my pads work essentially like the keys on the keyboard. They just play up and down the scale for the range that they cover. But I want to know how to, for expample, set Pad 1 to a snare, and Pad 3 to a kick. How do I do that? Someone please help, there's got to be one of you that knows how to do this. I've been googling for hours and Ive got nothin.
Forum Host. The pads just send MIDI data, they do not send specific information about the sound they should make.MT PowerDrumKit2 VSTi Multi-Channel with Cakewalk by Bandlab
What sounds the pads or keys trigger is determined by the synth playing the notes. There is a table in the SI-Drum help that shows the map in detail. What I'm saying is I want to assign a pad to play a specific sound.
In other words I want to assign it to a specific note as you described. I added to the reply above but it might have been while you were replying so to repeat. Either configure your hardware to send the appropriate note data or use a Drum Map in the DAW to map the incoming data to the notes the synth expects to see. Ok thanks. I'll try and see if I can make sense of that.Following the acquisition of certain assets and the complete set of intellectual property of Cakewalk Inc.
